Last night I went to the gym for just weights, planks and my Russian twists for this weeks Too Hot to Handle challenge.
These planks are killing me, but I’m so happy to see the results of hard work!
We have a fun giveaway from Scentsy this week. Visit Molly’s Scentsy page and tell me what warmer you would choose. She graciously offered up a warmer of the winner’s choice and 2 scents!

Have you had your workout yet or is it a rest day for you?
Happy Saturday! Today was long run day for me, 9 miles done! It was a nice temperature but the wind started picking up the last 4 miles. We still managed to pull out a 10:32 average pace for 9 miles!
Hoping to hit the gym sometime today for just weights.
Are you participating in Too Hot to Handle this month? We have a new exercise this week for you. We are working on getting those Love Handles in check this month, join us any time!
This week’s exercise is Russian Twists coming to you from Sara at She Cooks, She Crafts, She Runs. See the challenge here. Give me a shout and let me know if you are participating. I’ve been able to hold my feet off the ground while doing these for 1 minute so I’ll be working on getting to at least 2 minutes by the end of the week. You can do these without weights as well. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #thth and tag me @howmyworldruns on Twitter and Instagram!
We have a fun Valentine’s giveaway to announce tomorrow! Have a great Saturday!
What are your goals for this weekend?
It’s Friday! Who’s excited??
I want to hear what you’ve been up to. What are your accomplishments this week, this month, since January? Lost weight, inches, met a plank goal, a running goal? Whatever it is, let’s hear it!
Yesterday I got 5 miles in, at just under 10:30 per mile. Just started working on getting my speed up a little bit.
Today is my rest day, I have a 9 mile training run in the morning. We are tapering down our miles for Cowtown! I can’t believe it’s almost here.
My Moms Run the Town chapter had a booth at the Dallas Hot Chocolate race. I volunteered last night and tonight.
Have a great day!
I am so excited I finally hit a 2 minute plank!!
This morning I ran 3.25 miles at 9:24 pace, got speed work in. Did a mini boot-camp after with sprints, planks and russian twists! Got 40 V-ups done and plan for 40 more tonight!
Shout out to Run Find Your Happy Pace for hosting a giveaway for Shakeology samples. I won the Chocolate and it was pretty good!
We have winners for the final Swiftwick drawing. Congratulations Leah Frazier, Laurel Cedarblade, Debbie Harris, Shannon, Angela Pak and Nicole Leibee! Watch for an email from me today.
I got 70 V-Ups done yesterday for the Too Hot to Handle challenge! Are you participating? How many did you get done?
Yesterday I had some cute running buddies for my virtual 5k. I am participating in the 13 in 2013 challenge. That’s 13 races this year. There was a virtual race this week, Tackle the Miles, to help us reach that goal. Ally and I ran the 5k with Molly.
My cute running buddies!
Molly likes to run, several times we were running a sub 9:30 minute per mile!
We have a winner of our Sweat Pink Swag Bag, congratulations Cerissa Brown!! Watch for an email from me.
We still have a few giveaways going on, one ends tonight and the last one ends tomorrow night!
I got four sets of 10 V-Ups done yesterday, those are hard but I’m taking the challenge head on! Are you participating in our Too Hot to Handle challenge? How are your V-Ups coming along?
Have a great day!
I haven’t run this far since October 27, 2012 when I did 13.1 in California! It’s been a battle since then with injuries but I’m coming back strong! It felt so good to get 12 miles today. It was slower than my “usual” pace but these days a run is a run, no matter the pace!
We ran some hills and I watched my heart climb to 188! WOW! Next week we taper back down to get ready for race day on February 24!
Are you joining the February challenge, Too Hot to Handle? Let’s get those love handles in check this month! Here’s the post about it. There’s also a page dedicated to the challenge.
We have a winner for our first grand prize from Allied Medal Displays ~ congratulations Leslie Alcala! Watch for an email from me.
Don’t forget the rest of the #30DayHomies grand prizes are still going on, there was a new one announced every day last week. Check the page for all the posts. The next one ends tonight at 11:59PM CST. Don’t miss out!
Have a great Saturday!
It’s Friday and we have less than a week left in the month! It’s going by quick.
I am supposed to be in the midst of training for the Cowtown Half on February 24. But my foot has been hurt for a few weeks. I’m good to go now, so hopefully by this time tomorrow I will have completed 11 miles! No matter how many miles I get in tomorrow, it will be better than nothing!
If you aren’t a runner yet or maybe a new runner, I encourage you to get out there and try it. You might find you love it. It’s not expensive to do (well except for the races!) All you need is some time and a good pair of shoes! Right now I am loving both of the shoes I’m trying out. I will run in the Asics Cumulus in the morning.
Here’s a good Couch to 5k app to get you going!
You’ve heard people say “runner’s high” and I never got it, until I started running. Not just that but my overall stress level, my health, my sanity…all reasons I run! I’ve noticed the last few weeks of not running more than 2-3 miles at a time that I’ve missed it, the long distance running. I think that’s where my happy place is!
If you run, tell me why! If you don’t are you thinking about trying it out? If you just started, how are you doing?
Don’t forget the Nuun giveaway ends tonight at 11:59PM CST. The Muddy Buddy race entry was messed up (my fault) It’s open to ANY of their races and not just limited to May 11 like the Rafflecopter entry said. We extended that deadline to Monday at 11:59PM CST.
It’s Saturday which means a few things ~ it’s long run day for me and we have winners!
I got in 6.2 miles this morning, I’m soooo excited!
Tried out my new Asics Gel Cumulus and they felt good, foot feels good. Hoping it stays that way!
Anyone use a pedometer? Hubby and I started wearing them last December as part of the wellness program his company offers. We get points for physical activities, days with steps over 5k and 10k, etc. There’s a point system and we can buy things with the points.
A few weeks ago mine got washed but I was able to save it after putting it in a bag of rice. Then last week I lost it, looked everywhere. I ordered my new one last night and guess what Ally finds this morning in the hood of her clean shirt? My Fitbug, apparently I was putting up laundry and it somehow fell of my waistband and ended up in the hood of her shirt…I’m puzzled at how that happened but it’s found. And now hopefully I can cancel the order I placed last night!
Thanks again to our awesome supporters this week ~ Headsweats and Swiftwick. Drumroll please….the winner of the Headsweats hat is Sarah Gabriel!
And the winners of the Swiftwick Socks this week are Carey Bomgren, Alma McClintock, Jessica Thompson and Rachel Mano’o!
You all should receive an email from me verifying your address.
It’s day 17! The days are going fast now.
This mornings workout was 30 minutes on the elliptical, plank and weights.
Last night I was looking in the mirror (never used to really do that) and I noticed I have arm muscles!! Like actual definition, I’m so excited! Yesterday I also did the best push-up I’ve done so far. I’ve never been good at them and couldn’t get very low without just falling, but yesterday I got low and was able to get back up!
My foot still hurts/aches a little but I was afraid it would hurt a lot more after running a mile yesterday. I’m optimistic I’ll be able to get 5-6 miles in on Saturday!
Make it a great day!
What’s your workout today? Are you seeing your hard work pay off?
We had some crazy weather here yesterday! Forecast called for 10% chance of precipitation which usually means nothing. Went to the gym at 5AM and it was sleeting. By the time I got home and showered we had a full snow storm going on complete with thunder and lightning. We ended up with about 2 inches here.
The dogs really like the snow!
Today’s workout was 30 minute Nike Training workout and 1 mile run! I tried out the Newton’s and they felt pretty good.
I worked on our album from Disney World from 2010….yes I’m a little behind. I spent a few hours working on a digital album only to figure out that Shutterfly won’t let me add pages to the book I chose. I’m beyond frustrated.
Don’t forget about the giveaways this week ~ Swiftwick and Headsweats! See Day 14 for details.
