January Jumpstart Day 30: Throwback Thursday + Swiftwick giveaway

My workout this morning was a 5 mile run with my best running friends! It was windy, windy, windy! But we got it done.

Day 30 is throwback Thursday! This post is from last January’s challenge, it’s about how to use a foam roller.

    I ran last night a 5.2 mile run. half was with my boxer.. He was freezing so I decided to let him go back home! I felt kind of bad for the little guy, but he did great!! Hes my running buddy sometimes, and the other half of the run just plain sucked with the cold wind, but it was a run and done! :) today is cardio cross train day!! woot woot!

    I’ll be running at least 7 later today. My kids finally have school today, the weather has been horrible here in Ohio, and my oldest is sick. When my wife gets back from the store I am heading out. It’s 11 degrees today, about 20 degrees warmer than the last time I ran which was Tuesday!

    Ran 5 windy cold miles but got it done! We should have taken a group pic this morning Sarah, to show our commitment to running despite the cold temps :) Tonight is friends and family night at LA Fitness so I am planning to go after my daughter gets out of school and take her with me to check it and and oh, yes, to sit in the hot tub with me…. girl time :) Maybe even get in some ab work while I’m there :)

    I didn’t get one in today but I did get the last of my stuff from the “old house” and into my car. Felt like a workout.

    I havn’t worked out today. I think I am going to take another rest day- I’m feeling incredibly tired today and my tonsils are “talking” to me! Green tea and a rest day are in store for today. Sometimes I feel like it takes more discipline to take days off working out , than to get a workout in your day.

    I did a 3 mile easy run today. On Monday I did a Kettlebell workout that I am still sore from. I’ve done them before but not in a long time.

  9. Today is a rest day for me! Tomorrow is my long run, though.

  10. Double workout yesterday with a 9 mile run in the morning and 7 at night. Probably a slow recovery run after the kids are off to school. I have to take advantage of the warm weather, its in the 20s!

    • I sometimes do double runs, the 7 miler was at the local shoe store. I’ve found that after a really long or hard workout a short and slow run at night assists in recovery. It moves the blood and fluid back into the muscles of the legs and pulls out the “poison” for lack of better terms.
