St. Patrick’s Day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I had a really nice weekend. Started out with a 9 mile training run around White Rock Lake, first time and it was so nice. We started when it was still dark, so toward the end the sun started coming up and the views were really great and it was calming. Except for my beating heart!

My running buddies are a great group of ladies, we were a few short this weekend but had a great time!

Wonderful lake views!

A little stretching and refueling.

They have this sign in the restaurant so of course I had to get a picture.

Following my morning run was family day. We played miniature golf and hit some balls in the batting cages. Well, some of us hit some balls. Some of us didn’t. It’s a good thing I can run!

Ended the day with fajita’s and green beer. The weather was gorgeous, perfect ending to Spring Break.

I had intended to hit the gym or go for a short run today but the carpets needed cleaning instead. When I say needed, I mean it. We came home from a lovely day to a not-so-lovely mess left to us by our 13 year old lab. Who knew steam cleaning carpets would be my workout of the day?

Have a great week! Did you workout today? Anyone race today?

Carpet cleaning and other housekeeping chores offer their own kind of exercise and reward! :-) Sounds like you had a terrific weekend. Great pictures!

  3. Great post! I didn’t race, but I got in a 15 mile run and a pretty decent core workout to boot! I am so looking forward to the summer racing season!

Great stuff, you did the hard work first before the celebration!

Trying not to “reward” myself with food too much! It was a great run and really good food though! :-)

Looks like a great weekend. I slacked a bit this weekend. Did a bunch of outdoor play with my kids though and a ton of jump rope with my daughter.
