#30DayHomies Day 2

It’s Day 2 of #30DayHomies, but it’s also What I ate (and did) Wednesday! Lots going on today. Ally and I are going with friends to the new Perot Museum of Science and Nature. Since I have to get this post out early, I will have to update you on the rest tomorrow!

My workout today will be Nike Training at home. Yesterday I ran 5 miles and did 1 minute plank.

I got the pleasure of trying out Swiftwick socks for the first time in December. I’ve only tried compression calf sleeves, not full socks. And there’s definitely a difference. I really believe in compression for support during a run or workout and recovery after. They boost blood flow which aids is muscle recovery after a hard workout. I also think the socks help with shin pain, but I haven’t found anything solid on that. The socks are tight, but not uncomfortable. They are moisture wicking, which all your workout clothes should be. If you are working out in cotton t-shirts you should try moisture wicking clothes just once!  They also prevent blisters.

    Workout yesterday was JM total body rev… As it will be for the next 89 days, with the exception of Fridays (our rest day) for those days I will probably just do something light like walk for 30 just to stay your 30day homie challenge!

    Ran 2 miles, Did elliptical for 20 min. and 50 crunches.

    Yesterday was a FAST 5 miles ;), today, I will do a plank and a 15 minute Nike Fitness App workout!

    Today was a Stroller Strides class that, among other things, included 120 push-ups as part of our “12 days of fitness” class!

    Yesterday I did an hour and a half of yoga and today I did a brisk walk with my dog (rest day).

    Ran 3.87 miles yesterday and did Hip Hop Abs Hips, Buns and Thighs today 🙂

    Work out was good today. Followed an Etsy boot camp style circuit at home. Took it easy as to not injure my back but learned you can still work out carefully – even with an injury.

    Still nursing a fever and recovering from the flu, so just did a 10 minute circuit today. Hoping to hit the pavement tomorrow. 🙂

    Ran a 5K with my 9 year old son, plank-a-day and did the 30day ab challenge.

    40 minutes weight training and a 20 minute walk with my dog and son on his bike 🙂

    Today I was able to get in a hour of cardio at the gym and 45 minutes of weights!

    Total Strength class at the Y. I’m not sure I’ll be able to get out of bed tomorrow!

    Yesterday, I ran a 5k for the Commitment Day Run in DC and did the abs/plank/squats/jumpin jack/lunges challenges that are out there on FB. Today I did 1 hour of Zumba and the challenges again including a minute of burpees :/

  16. Abs, abs and more abs…yikes, I am going to be sore! Oh, and I found a running buddy that lives in my neighborhood…SCORE!
