Turkey Trot, Black Friday and a new Puppy!

This week was a busy week! I got released to run on Wednesday and we left from the doctors office to go pick up our newly adopted puppy, Molly. She is a cocker spaniel mix. She’s cute as a button but full of energy!

I finally managed to get a 2 mile run in that afternoon, it was a little warm for November. It felt good to get out there. I am definitely looking forward to logging miles in December since I got a little behind the last few weeks. I don’t have a race scheduled until January (a virtual 10k) and then the end of February is the Cowtown. Training will start very soon for both of those races.

I was very excited to be able to run the 1st annual Rockwall Running Center Turkey Trot benefiting Toys for Tots on Thanksgiving Day. It was exactly one year since my first 5k. It’s been an amazing year, one full of major accomplishments I wasn’t sure I was capable of at my age!  I’m looking forward to what 2013 has in store. I will probably be talking goals over the next month.

Me and Ally before the race. There was no PR happening for me. Ally actually beat me in!

Here’s some of our group from the Running Center and Moms RUN This Town. These are a great group of ladies!

I definitely ate my share of turkey and dressing on Thanksgiving Day. My family has so much to be thankful for. We enjoyed dinner with family and then I headed out early Friday morning for my annual shopping trip. It’s a really long and tiring day but so much fun! (I know I’m crazy)

Thank you all for reading my story and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’m looking forward to putting up our tree tomorrow!

Don’t forget about the contest going on, it ends Tuesday. Tell me how you Sweat Pink!
