Cross training

It’s been 12 days since my last run. 

I’ve been cross training at the gym and concentrating on my core. I’ve mostly been using the elliptical but I did walk on the treadmill. It was really hard not to speed that thing up and run! 

I have been working on my core – using my Nike Training Club app and working on holding a plank. I did make it to 60 seconds twice now! I’ve got a ways to go, but can tell a difference already. 

Mostly I’m just proud of myself for following doctor’s orders and not running. I really don’t want to injure myself further. Hoping my first run back will be a 5k on Thanksgiving Day in Rockwall. The race entry fee is a new toy for Toys for Tots. Info is here if you are interested. 

And one last thing, I finally decided on a place to hang my medals. The holder looks a little empty, think I will work on that in 2013! You can get one here

    You should try some side planks they are awesome and so challenging!

    Thank you Sara! I was doing those in Nike Training Club, just wasn't very good at them. I need to try them again.

  3. Oh, no! Being injured is no fun… hope you’re back at it soon and the Turkey trot is pain free. Glad to have connected with you via Sweat Pink!
